Family and extended family photography to cherish

Timeless Portraits, creating lasting memories for the whole family

There’s never a need for a special occasion to bring your family together and create lasting memories—that’s what makes these sessions so meaningful. In a world where we’re often more disconnected than ever, setting aside time to be fully present with the people you love is truly priceless.

As a family photographer in Surrey, I make sure these sessions are perfect for your immediate family and extended relatives alike, so feel free to bring Grandma, Grandpa, and everyone you hold dear. Book your session, embrace the moment, and treasure the memories for years to come.

A Relaxed Family Photoshoot in Banstead

Family life rarely pauses on its own. Days are busy, children grow quickly, and routines shift before you realise they have changed. A family photoshoot is simply a chance to slow down for a little while and be together.

Your photography session takes place in my bright studio in Banstead, Surrey, offering a calm and private space designed to feel welcoming for adults and children alike. The setting is neutral and uncluttered, filled with soft natural light that keeps the focus on connection rather than distraction.

Sessions are gently guided but never rigid. I offer direction when needed, but many of the most meaningful moments happen naturally – a whispered joke, a spontaneous hug, the way a child instinctively leans into you.

Extended family sessions are always welcome. Grandparents, cousins, siblings. These portraits often become rare photographs where multiple generations are together in one frame.

We move at your family’s pace. Children are not expected to perform. Some are energetic and curious, others need time to settle. Both are completely fine.

What to Expect from Your Family Photography Session

Before your session, we will talk through wardrobe so everything feels cohesive without being overly styled. Soft neutrals and simple textures tend to photograph beautifully, keeping attention on your relationships rather than clothing.

During your session, we may create:

  • Relaxed group portraits with natural positioning.
  • Individual photographs of each child.
  • Sibling images that reflect personality.
  • Grandparent portraits where appropriate.
  • Quiet, candid moments between parents.

There is no pressure for perfection and no expectation that children will sit still for long.

The aim is to preserve your family as you are right now – familiar expressions, natural closeness, and the small interactions that define this season.

Why These Portraits Matter

Family photographs take on new meaning with time.

Right now, they may simply feel like a beautiful record of how things are. In years to come, they become something more. A reminder of how small your children once were. The way everyone fits together at this stage of life.

These portraits are not about creating a perfect image. They are about documenting connection, the dynamic between siblings, the quiet understanding between parents, the comfort of being side by side.

What feels ordinary today will one day feel extraordinary.

Artwork to Live With

Family portraits are meant to be seen. I offer fine art prints and framed collections chosen to complement your home. These are pieces created to live on your walls, part of your everyday environment rather than stored away.

Years from now, these photographs will carry a different weight. They will remind you of small hands in yours, familiar smiles, and the closeness of this particular stage of family life.

When to Book Your Family Session

Family sessions can take place at any time of year, whether you are marking a milestone or simply recognising how quickly things are changing.

A limited number of bookings are accepted each month so that every experience remains calm and personal.

If you are based in Surrey or South London and feel drawn to a natural and thoughtful approach, I would love to welcome you. Families visit my Banstead studio from Epsom, Reigate, Cheam, Coulsdon, and Croydon, as well as across Surrey, Kent, and London, to document their story together.

FAQ's

A family session typically includes parents and children (and sometimes pets!). An extended family session involves additional family members – such as grandparents, siblings, cousins, or multiple generations – all photographed together and in smaller group combinations.

There’s no strict limit, but please let me know how many people will be attending when you enquire (there may be an additional fee depending on how many individuals are included in your session). For larger groups, I allow extra time to ensure we capture all the important combinations without feeling rushed.

Family sessions can be held either outdoors at one of my beautiful natural light locations or in my beautiful studio located in Banstead.
