I have had the privilege of photographing many mothers from Reigate and the surrounding areas of Surrey, and what I notice most is how rarely they give themselves permission to mark this season properly. There is always something that feels more pressing, more practical, more deserving of the investment. And yet, almost every mother who walks through the door of my Banstead studio tells me afterward that she is glad she came.
So is luxury maternity photography worth it? I want to answer that honestly.
The word gets used loosely, so I think it is worth being clear about what it means in practice.
A luxury maternity experience is not simply about beautiful images, though the images matter enormously. It is about the entire journey from the moment you enquire to the moment your photographs are hanging on the wall of your home. Every detail is considered. Nothing is left for you to figure out on your own.
When you come to my studio, you are welcomed into a calm, light-filled space that has been designed with your comfort in mind. There are no harsh lights, no clinical backdrops, no sense of being processed through a session. You arrive, you settle in, and I take care of everything else. I have a beautifully curated wardrobe of elegant pieces for mothers to wear, so there is no pressure to find something special to buy beforehand. The light in the studio is soft and flattering. The pace is entirely yours.
After your session, I invite you back to view your images together and choose how you would like them displayed in your home. Fine art prints, bespoke framed pieces, and handcrafted albums. Products designed to be held, displayed, and returned to for years to come.
Pregnancy is one of the most significant physical and emotional experiences in a woman’s life. It is tender and powerful and fleeting in equal measure. The weeks between 29 and 36 feel like a season unto themselves, and they pass very quickly.
What you are investing in is a record of this season that exists outside of your phone. Something your child may one day hold as part of the beginning of their own story. Something that reminds you, years from now, of how it felt to carry them.
I photograph mothers from Reigate, Epsom, Cheam, Coulsdon, Croydon, and across Surrey and South London. Many of them tell me they considered waiting, or doing it themselves, or skipping it altogether. Very few of them, having sat in the viewing appointment and seen their images for the first time, feel anything other than gratitude that they chose to do it.
I accept a limited number of sessions each month, which means I give every client my complete attention from the very beginning. Before your session, I will guide you through everything, from colour palettes and what to wear to how to feel comfortable and at ease in front of the camera.
The session itself is unhurried. Most mothers arrive a little uncertain, and leave feeling something quite different. The studio holds that shift gently. By the time we reach the end of the session, something has settled.
The images I create are natural, timeless, and deeply personal. Not trend-driven. Not heavily styled. Just you, in this moment, documented with care and intention.

Part of my role is to help you feel at ease, and I do that gently, through conversation, through pace, and through creating an environment where there is no pressure to perform. By the end of the session, the discomfort has almost always dissolved entirely. The images reflect that shift.

Most mothers book during their second trimester, with the session itself taking place between 29 and 36 weeks. At this stage, the bump is beautifully round and most mothers are still comfortable enough to move freely and enjoy the experience. I recommend getting in touch as early as possible, as I accept a limited number of sessions each month and availability fills up accordingly.

About a week after your session, I invite you back to my Banstead studio for a personal viewing and ordering appointment. You will see your images in full, and together we will decide how to bring them into your home.
